What is a Local Place Plan?
Local Place Plan
Local Place Plans were introduced by the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019. Which makes it a right of the community to produce their own plan, as part of the new Scottish planning system.
Community Led
Local Place Plans are collaborative and community-led. They include suggestions from communities about how land is developed and used within their local area and can describe the types of changes that local people want to see and be taken into account.
This Group
The Castle Douglas Local Place Planning steering group was established in October of 2023 and is a partnership between Castle Douglas Development Forum and Castle Douglas Community Council.
